ABOUT

My name is Nick Stoicu and I am the creator of Origami Flowers, a stoner rock/metal indie band in Nashville, TN. I’m looking for a bassist and a drummer to play my music live.

Origami Flowers is influenced by Black Sabbath, Tool, Sleep, All Them Witches, classic rock, and indie rock. I learned guitar on Metallica and enjoy a lot of heavy music, and found that I wanted to take my project in that direction. The band is a power trio with me on electric guitar and vocals with a bassist and drummer. I write and record all of the songs and would like to look for a bassist and drummer who enjoy playing heavy music and want to play live.

I want to consider this project like a second job. I have a full time day job as well as a dedicated personal life but I want to be serious about playing and joining the community of Nashville’s heavy music. In the future, I’d like to build the band up to a point where we can book the occasional out-of-state gig on a weekend or plan a week-long tour and have a decent following, though as of right now I’m not looking to get a record deal and tour the country all times of the year. I want to begin gigging around the city of Nashville, booking a show at least once every month or two, playing any venue that is common sense to play, from house shows to big venues. I want to play live because I enjoy playing live and I want to find musicians who feel the same way.

I’m looking for musicians who are able to learn songs on their own and be able to come in and rehearse the song to perfection. I treat rehearsals as fine-tuning the performance and meshing as a band, not as practice. I will provide tablatures for the bass parts and demos of the songs we will play live to practice to. I also plan to play cover songs from bands like Sabbath and All Them Witches or whatever seems to be fun to play in the Origami Flowers style. I want to have a repertoire that can fill an hour or more as an asset for gigs. I don't have a place to rehearse yet but I'm planning to figure it out as I find people to play with.

I’m not able to pay anything to anyone up front, but should the band make any money from a gig there’s an even portion coming their way.

Overall, I’m looking for talented musicians who love heavy music and want to play gigs in Nashville and have a ton of fun doing it, making relationships along the way and having a great time.

If you’re interested, message me and we can talk further and figure out if we would like to play together.
