Bass Guitar.

ABOUT

Three-piece outfit (guitar, drums, keys) seeks like-minded bass player to form an improvisational rock band in the mold of Phish, the Dead, STS9, and numerous others. We're hoping to blend rock, blues, funk, latin, folk, jazz, electronica, progressive, classical, and psychedelic influences into a groovy melodic smorgasboard. Mix of covers and originals.

We are all in our 20s-30s, and would like to rehearse 1x/week, preferably on the weekend (in either SF or the Penninsula). All three of us are well-trained musicians and we are looking to play with other players who are willing to commit to learning the composed parts of songs in addition to jamming on the open parts. We all have day jobs and intend to keep it that way, but would like to progress as a group to the point where we could do periodic gigs in the Bay Area, and occasional weekend coastal runs.

An ideal bass player would have an expansive sonic palette, big ears, a friendly and collaborative vibe, some ability to sing (or at least a willingness to try), a solid understanding of music theory, a personal practice routine, and decent gear/effects. But life isn't always ideal, if you hit some of these categories and could be committed to the others, then it's worth discussing.
