ABOUT

I'm a guitarist and vocalist first, bassist second. I'm a good rhythm player, and comfortable with tasteful lead. After a long time away from music, now I'm mostly writing and recording my own songs in various musical styles--whatever suits the stories I'm trying to tell. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, but my playing and writing are mostly in Americana and American roots music--blues, r&b and soul, country and western swing, and indie pop. I I don't mind being up front, but I enjoy playing behind singers, and supporting talented musicians. I think being a session musician would be a pretty awesome job. My ego is reasonably sized. In an earlier life, I was a gigging semi-professional musician in bars, outdoor festivals and coffeehouses, both with groups and as a solo performer. Right now I'm more interested in jamming, songwriting, and collaborating on recording than I am performing live. I miss connecting with others through music.
