Vocalist.ABOUT
Overgrown is looking for a singer! Overgrown is a rock band based on a sound, that of a really prominent acoustic and electric guitar mix. That guides our song selection anywhere from blues to Beatles to Zep to '90s Alternative rock. We have a lucky combination of players with diverse experiences, several music degrees and a lot of respect between us, and we're also friends. The vocalist we're looking for should first and foremost be a good bandmate, able to commit to one rehearsal a week and a gig or two a month. If you are some Karaoke- Star Search- Stars in the eyes type whose drunken friends are all telling you how you've got something special, we would hate to waste your time. Overgrown is looking for a musician capable of covering a challenging variety of music, and who can have fun doing it without necessarily drinking, drugging, or ego-ing him- or herself through the process. Is ego-ing a word? It is now.

EQUIPMENT
Everybody has what they need and the band has a trailer capable of rocking any block party. We are on a kick of not wrecking the front mix with stage volume, and the idea of in-ear monitors should be mentioned at this point. I previously mentioned singers of the "karaoke- star search- stars in the eyes type, " and one test of that is whether you have even considered pulling your own weight by owning a microphone complimentary to your voice, or investing in your own crucial monitoring needs. We wouldn't judge a musician by their equipment- or would we? If someone expects to waltz in and not have to even think about their own equipment needs, what does that say? Just something to think about.
