The Owl-Eyes began in 2013 as a solo project of multi-instrumentalist Ethan Teel. At age 14, he described listening to Dark Side of The Moon as the turning point in his artistic development. "When it was all over, I said THAT, I want to make something like that. If I can change one person's perception on life through music like Pink Floyd and that album did for me, then I can die a happy man."
4 years later - Ethan sings, plays guitar, bass, drums, and is the primary lyricist for the group; taking inspiration from acts like Nine Inch Nails and Foo Fighters as common performance vehicles for songwriting talents of each band's lead frontman and founder. The Sound? Imagine if Weezer covered music by the Kinks? Imagine if David Bowie collaborated with Serj of SOAD. That, in a nutshell, is The Owl-Eyes.
Ethan attended McNally Smith College of Music - beginning in the fall of 2014 - in pursuit of a Bachelors of Music Business Degree. During this time, live shows became very rare. But, underneath it all, Ethan Teel has been quietly crafting The Owl-Eyes debut album - a concept album -entitled "Hallelujah Hysteria: The Revolution as Advertised." The concept is simple; if the world were to end today, Hallelujah Hysteria will act as a historical record of what the human subconscious explored during the Earth's final hours - how did we get here, what drives us, what divides us, and ultimately, what brings us together.

War ElephantsThis song is about how much I despise our lust for war and power. We put more money into defense than education, healthcare, and environmental care COMBINED. Young men are sent to foreign lands being taught to deny that the people they're shooting at could've been neighbors if given a different set of circumstances. They die in these lands in the name of freedom, democracy, and peace; and we honor that memory by restricting these back home? Point is, if we took all the money we spent on defense and instead spent it on feeding, clothing, and educating the poor around the world (not one person excluded) we can become a beacon of light like we once were; less people would die, and we can be happier..... ....but that's just my opinion y'all. Credits Composition and Lyrics by - Ethan Teel Mixed and Engineered by - Marcus Davies Produced at the now defunct McNally Smith College of Music Studios Produced by - Marcus Davies & Ethan Teel Drums by - Zahk Peterson. Fear Of My Reflection
Fear Of My ReflectionNow that the election is over, whilst the blue tsunami flooded the house, the senate is still guarded by red walls. Looking back on the election of 2016 - this newest one was not as bad. In fact, it went better than I thought it would go. Why? Because when election night 2016 occurred, I witnessed protests that very night. We were at each others throats, and that makes me nauseous. To quote Matt Stone, "At the end of the day, the people yelling from one side are the same exact people yelling on the opposite side, and its ok to be in the middle." HeartlessUnknown Sin was about Gossip. Originally, this song was just about my hatred of two-face-type politicians; but after the recent testimonies of Ford VS Kavanaugh, as well as the baffling press coverage of it and how the general reaction to it from a certain political leaning was so "cold-shoulder," I felt this song was more apropos than ever. Thank you Shakespeare. Let us not forget, as humans one of our weakness is that we always tend to only look out for No.1. We gotta remember there's other people on this planet, and the people that were insulated with privilege by the system as well as having a wild-hair up their ass to succeed and get more power - they have handed in their humanity card. They are not acting like people. We should still treat everyone equally - but note that folks who will do more to gain power and keep it away from folks they find undesirable - they are cold, manipulative, liars, and above all - heartless. The Owl-Eyes is always watching - just like humanity - hope y'all are listening.

I Could Careless -(from "Hallelujah Hysteria," out (02/15/2019)Off our Debut Album, "Hallelujah Hysteria," to be released February 15th of 2019. More singles to come. :) This song was written and recorded during the peak of media coverage and political paranoia for the presidential 2016 campaign. I wrote this as a "what if," scenario - and unfortunately - that "what if," became a "now what." At this point, all we can do is write about it, and that is when "Hallelujah Hysteria," was born. Albums I Love and So Can You! Pop 1 Ep.2 "Demon Days with Dr.Who"Episode 2 of Albums I love and So can YOU! This is our pop episode. While probably their most popular release, music industry insiders have stated that "Demon Days," was the album that caused Gorillaz to get dropped by Parlaphone Records. Was it justified? Does this mean that the singles are the only good songs, or is there something more to this record? Listen as me and my girlfriend struggle through our limited attention spans as we wax poetically about "Demon Days."

Albums I Love And So Can YOU! Classic Rock 1: EP 1, "Bunnies On The Dark Side Of The Moon."Note: I WANTED IT LONGER! But this was originally recorded for a class with a time-limit, so......screw it. LOL Our very first episode!!! And what better way to kick-out-the-jams by taking the "time" to kick back, "warm [your] bones beside the fire," and contemplate our modern societal pressures as we dig deep into one of the most iconic music albums of all time. This is the first album I ever showed to my girlfriend (who I hope will return in the future for more episodes); quite honestly, it's an album that changed my life. Ladies and Gentleman, Albums I Love and So Can YOU presents episode one, classic rock 1... Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon."
