The Owl-Eyes began in 2013 as a solo project of multi-instrumentalist Ethan Teel. At age 14, he described listening to Dark Side of The Moon as the turning point in his artistic development. "When it was all over, I said THAT, I want to make something like that. If I can change one person's perception on life through music like Pink Floyd and that album did for me, then I can die a happy man."
4 years later - Ethan sings, plays guitar, bass, drums, and is the primary lyricist for the group; taking inspiration from acts like Nine Inch Nails and Foo Fighters as common performance vehicles for songwriting talents of each band's lead frontman and founder. The Sound? Imagine if Weezer covered music by the Kinks? Imagine if David Bowie collaborated with Serj of SOAD. That, in a nutshell, is The Owl-Eyes.
Ethan attended McNally Smith College of Music - beginning in the fall of 2014 - in pursuit of a Bachelors of Music Business Degree. During this time, live shows became very rare. But, underneath it all, Ethan Teel has been quietly crafting The Owl-Eyes debut album - a concept album -entitled "Hallelujah Hysteria: The Revolution as Advertised." The concept is simple; if the world were to end today, Hallelujah Hysteria will act as a historical record of what the human subconscious explored during the Earth's final hours - how did we get here, what drives us, what divides us, and ultimately, what brings us together.
