Papercollar Joe (two words, not three) do not sound like Thursday, thank you though. The band, long in their travels, have gone through several iterations. The first being 'Strate-Laced.' "We were Strate-Laced and then Brian was a jerk. I like cereal." Then came Corey's Falling, "We named our band Corey's Falling because we were being morons. Papercollar Joe is a different band with the same people in it."
They feel secure in who they are and their talents. "We are Papercollar Joe. I don't know-- we're awesome... ask anyone, seriously." "People used to just like us 'cause we were hot. Now I hope they like us because we are the best band in the world. Actually, we are the best band in music. We are music." "You know. It's like anything else." "We are really really humble. Actually, I think we are the most humble people ever."
Their music: incredibly complex. Heartfelt. Full of life and vitality. Music for all occasions and moods. "Here is a song called Secret Secret: 'doo doo doo duh duo pop doo cuck doo cuck doo cuck doo cuck cuck.' Thank you-- thank you." "We are heavily influenced by Britney, Justin, and Usher. Our drummer is the best of all."
A band of brothers, they live for eachother and the music. They realize they aren't perfect and don't try to be. "I hate when people mess with our band. I wish we were better examples, but we aren't." "If this were 10 years ago, I would have beaten Brian." "Randall needs to start hanging out with us more-- we are like this sometimes: 4 plus 1. we need to be like this: five together." "We are white fecal matter."
They are currently working on their follow up EP to last year's EP "Seizures and Foosball" entitled "Lopes of Canta." Look for it sometime within the next ten and a half years. Dedication and drive? YES!
To go back to the Thursday comment. If not Thursday... then who? "We sound like Minus the Bear and Blue Sky Mile, and a band with a drummer like Kevin." "We have a van. It will break on us when we are far away."
