Parachute Pandas started in 1985 with 4 strangers with a love for Panda Conservation. Bill Crane, Tom McQueen, Lance Frezno, and Karl Singleton met while attending the University of San Diego in a zoology class. During one class period, their professor starting talking about how little pandas have to offer this world, simultaneously Bill, Tom, Lance, and Karl stood up, forming an instant, unconditional, and indestructable bond. After years of hardships, back stabbing, and betrayal, they finally put their differences aside and decided to start working on their debut album: The Magic Panda. Their newest album is based off ancient panda mating calls and techniques used in the peak of mating seasons. The melodies and complex rhythms were transcribed by Bill Crane. They have been working with legendary producer and panda activist Frank De Parke and are very pleased with the results.
Today, Parachute Pandas is continued on in memory of those four brave souls, continuing the message and driving forward in the industry of "fun music", a genre which is certainly void of today's deathcore and screamo scenes. A Parachute Panda gig is promised to be full of positive, uplifting music with a rising overtone of love and peace. And pandas.
Parachute Pandas have worked for many years to spread funtimes in all aspects of music, and use the wonderful gift of music to spread an important message of panda conservation and have also begun the PDMAF (Pizza Delivery Man Appreciation Front).
