ABOUT

50+ year guitarist/drummer and 30+ year composer/arranger/audio engineer establishing in-house session band for composition, recording, rehearsal, and live performance of music to include, but not limited to, omnibus support for individual band members' or their clients' creative projects and live performance of CCM/Gospel covers for Middle TN worship nights/festivals.

My hope is to begin a long-term recording/live performance cycle on the band's time and terms, and equally important, to establish a loving, creative relationship with brothers/sisters equally enthused to advance the Gospel through music.

To date, I've recorded all of my CD releases with Nashville session players--including vocalists--and I began recording recent projects one instrument/track at a time. Needless to say, I believe much better music can be made with a collaborative group effort and live recording of performances from a regular, consistent session band.

To this end, I've completely renovated my studio so session band members can simply plug-and-play with minimal cartage burden for rehearsals and recording. We will be able to multitrack record all rehearsals for fine tuning and, perhaps, use these tracks as music beds for PR videos.

I'm currently searching for:

- Keyboardist: Absolutely need an accomplished B3 and piano player with solid rigs for live performance. Lead vocals and/or BGVs would certainly be a huge bonus.

- Lead guitar: Absolutely need an accomplished lead guitarist who can play for the song and not just themselves. I can guarantee plenty of guitar-saturated songs and opportunities to shine. I prefer well-conceived melodic leads as opposed to gratuitous technical flurries (Neil Schon would most accurately represent these two extremes), and certainly there's a great balance that can be achieved in there somewhere without the player feeling constrained. The lead guitarist would perform all solos as well as detailed complementary work with the other guitarist(s).

- Lead vocalist: Absolutely need a powerful rock-and-soul voice, and the lead vocalist from my Lifecycles CD (see websites below for reference) is the benchmark. I will definitely consider a female voice as long as she has the desired character.

To be clear, this effort is a Christian enterprise, and all music composed by/co-composed with me will be Christian music. However, it is absolutely *not* a requirement to be a Christian in this band, and creative works emerging from this collaboration do *not* necessarily have to be Christian. I believe we can all consult and draw from each others' influences and muses without obligation, and I'm more than willing to contribute to any great musical idea--lyrically or musically--for the sake of the work and without demand for co-write credit or points. I will have to insist on responsibility, preparation, and absolutely no smoking, alcohol, or substances for rehearsals, performances, and related meetings, but I'm not gonna mandate what you do in your private life unless you begin to show some wear and tear. If this is the sort of creative environment you desire, then please contact me for a chat. Thanks for listening--blessings.
