ABOUT

Hello again everybody, bass player here. I am looking for a new start-up or cover band to join and play alternative/indie/shoegaze styles of music. I am a 53-year-old male that started playing bass guitar seriously in 2019. I was in a band in the DC metro area in 2019 that performed original music and played in shows in 2020 before Covid made its mark. I was in an alternative cover band that disbanded recently. I am looking to keep the momentum moving forward.

I have my own equipment and a vehicle to travel. I am willing to drive up to 1.5 hour to practice from Netcong, NJ. I have a serious job, so I do not smoke, do drugs or drink during practice – I am focus on getting the songs done right. During my experience with the previous band, I practiced the band’s setlist in a studio once a week, by myself, working on memorizing by playing 18+ songs over a PA system for 2 hours. To make band practice more efficient, I worked with a musician regularly each week to help learned the songs correctly, quickly and having somebody to jam with so I could be ready for next band practice. What I lack in experience and music theory, I make up with my work ethic. I am not a singer but have been trying to work on backup vocals. I am not a flashy player; my stage presence is similar to Paz from the Pixies – quiet but still engages the band and audience.

My goal: Joining a serious-minded band that has a regular practice schedule that wants to play in live shows. Be ready to play in late spring 2014.

So, if you are forming a new band or looking for new member for a current band – drop me a line. I can send you a list of songs that I play. I will be trying to get in on some open mic nights this winter. Otherwise, good luck with your bands, projects, and future shows in 2024. Have fun.

PS – I am not interested driving to any borough in NYC for practice sessions, the traffic, the tolls, parking, and cost of gas is too much for me.
