Hey!

I’m a musician who plays guitar, drums, bass guitar primarily. I have been playing guitar and drums for over 20 years and bass guitar for over 10. Genre played has mainly been indie rock, though I have experience playing folk, pop/rock, Americana, and even older country.

Currently, I am the drummer for a honky tonk band called Ralphie & the RCs. Previously, I was bassist and backup singer for the indie/alternative band If The War Should End and drummer for the indie/folk/Americana band The Lunar Low. I also recorded and played drums with the Dallas-based indie/alternative rock band Heard.

I have some experience with audio engineering (self taught).

Non-music related info: got two girls (a 8 year old and a toddler), married, full time job. I also am a practicing and often teaching visual artist. Time management is key!

Influences

Several rock based genres like indie rock/pop, dream pop, shoegaze, classic rock, mod, garage rock, new wave, surf rock, etc. Other genres include 60s Soul, Jazz (modern, standards, some acid/free form), Blues (acoustic and electric), Tejano, Folk, bits of older country (Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash predominantly), and a mish-mosh of classical and world music. Bands of special significance are Ride, Mazzy Star, Land Of Talk, Talking Heads, Sky Larkin, Tame Impala, The Lemonheads, R.E.M., Beach House, Early Elvis Costello, Buffalo Tom, Dinosaur Jr., Teenage Fanclub. Classic rock bands like The Beatles, The Who, The Zombies, Small Faces, Jefferson Airplane, Buddy Holly and the like were big influences. Some local and Texas bands I like are El Lago, Claire Morales and Tee Vee. Recent bands in heavy rotation on the streaming devices are Winter, Hatchie, Kero Kero Bonito/DJ Cryalot, Fazerdaze, Alvvays, Charly Bliss, Hop Along, Easy Love, several similar bedroom rock bands.
