Drums.ABOUT
Seeking drummer for recording project.
Need versatile drummer for original music recording project with new songs focused around progressive message as well as mainstream songs.
The ‘musical activist’ songs do not bash one political party over the other but point out injustices to the masses over upbeat rocking rhythms (including reggae, rock, punk, jazz, influences).
Videos and gigs also part of project.

Stand Up and Be Counted
Stand Up and Be Counted Track number: 1 Year: 2018 Album: Stand Up and Be Counted Genre: Rock
Stand up and Be Counted by Paul Gagne & Social Correction © Copyright - Paul Gagne & Social Correction / Paul Gagne & Social Correction (193428255852) Paul Gagne weaves a social conscious message into pop rock compositions while taking interesting rhythmic turns into reggae and jazz genres. Genre: Reggae: Reggae rock Release Date: 11/27/2018 ABOUT THIS ALBUM Album Notes When Chris Hedges (political activist & journalist) said, "every revolution needs music...and we need a revolution", I heeded his call. The social commentary lyrics come from going through an awakening of sorts the last few years which started with Noam Chomsky, referred by a coworker George, who I call sensei or the Professor. With the professor's eBook collection and YouTube; down the rabbit hole I went. What I was awakened to is that these are polarizing times, and life of the working class throughout the world is threatened. We're obligated to identify the source of power that is threatening the masses and rise up to break their system. I'll give you a clue, the source of power is corporate power (financial, defense contracting, MNC’s) and the system is capitalism. As the song took shape as a reggae/rock track, i knew Reality Weeks could do it justice and i wish justice was always this seamless. A recent project in a Bob Marley Tribute with great musicians, including some direct from the Caribbean’s, connected me to a producer/keyboardist, Joseph 'Reality' Weeks, who not only wrote "Hot Hot Hot" (not credited though), but taught me how to 'skank' on rhythm guitar. As a full-time musician/producer, Reality knew a tasty reggae drummer from Brooklyn (Everton James) and a professional backup singer (Dionne) from his church. To top it off, he also knew a top Mastering pro from Nashville, Ray Kennedy, who put the finishing touches on the track. Now the bass player is the ace up my sleeve, Patrick Gebhardt, whose ancient name is Percatonious (God of Thunderbass). Okay, I made that name up combining Latin words on Google (now i use Ecosia as a search engine because they save trees). Patrick's been my musical left hand for many years and I'm his right hand (since he's a lefty it makes sense). Maybe Hedges' call to the music community was because art and music provide a less threatening way to communicate seemingly radical ideas. 'Stand Up and Be Counted' lyrics aren't cryptic by any means. For example, "With healthcare we're all being robbed...Big Pharma's worse than the Mob". But that's where the lilting reggae groove comes in as if to say how could this island breeze music be saying anything rebellious? If you've read this far, thank you and enjoy the music, there's more like it in the works. Paul Gagne & Social Correction
