SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Other Percussion, Keyboard, Piano, Flute, Mandolin, Upright bass.ABOUT
I’ve been playing since the age of 8. For the 15 years before the pandemic I played in a classic rock cover band. Now I really have the urge to get out and start playing with people again! I quickly recorded a little demo to put on the site here. It’s not much but at least gives an idea of what I’d bring to your situation.
I’d consider any type of band opportunity. I’ve come to think that an ideal situation would be to team up with 2 or 3 other players – no particular instrumentation in mind (a lead vocal, keys, bass, another guitar, percussion, other?). My thought is to keep it simple…play songs people love to hear and even sing along to in a club, nice bar, patio, party or event. It would be nice to get away from the wall of speakers and have a clean easy set-up and take down with us controlling our own sound on stage. I’ve become a believer in a Bose (or similar) column system where the players hear what the audience hears. It’s very easy and sounds great.
It would be nice to be in a group close to my home (far west suburbs), but like I said, I am open to anything. Perhaps practice once per week, and play out once or maybe twice per month?
I’ve dabbled in many styles over the years. I’ve played acoustic guitar my whole life. I read standard notation and tab. For my own enjoyment I love to create my own solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements of pop songs and standards on a nylon string and archtop. That has given me a lot of exposure to pop and jazz too.
So please, let me know if you think I’d be a fit for you or your band. I want to hear from you.
Thanks!
