ABOUT

I am a 62 year "young" man, who lives in Oklahoma City, OK. who's primary instrument are the drums, I started learning to play the drums in 1970 and I'm still playing them. Although my music actually started around 1965, when I started learning to play the piano in 1st grade. But, as I mentioned, the drums is my first passion and love.

I've had 3 bands(In High School, In the Navy and a large cover band) and I played in 3(orchestra, jazz/big band, church band(Englush and Spanish services).

My genre includes: 40s - early 80s from classic rock, classic country, swing/big bands, some jazz, some R & B, 70s disco, and some others.

I have also played the Timpanies, Congos and some other percussion instruments.I would love to learn to play the Steel Drums.

I don't smoke, drink or do drugs.I would like to travel and play throughout the USA.

I would be interested in learning and playing new music/songs, depending on the venue. Even though I'm interested in playing covers, etc., I would like to be able to have our own sound and music.

I clicked on: "UNSPECIFIED" for the "Practicing" due to the fact I don't really have a place to practice. I live in a Senior Apartment complex, which makes it hard because I have to keep the volume down. But, I do have some decent neighbors that do enjoy listening to me, but I still can't practice like I want. Plus, the apartments are somewhat small, and with everything we have, my wife and I, it makes it hard to move around when I have my drums set up. Now, if there is ANYBODY that would have or knows of a place that I can use to practice and possibly keep my drums there, I really would appreciate the help.

MY BIGGEST GOAL/DREAM IS TO PERFORM ON AGT, GO TO THE FINALS AND WIN IT ALL!!!! I have some ideas for each of the contests. This would give the band some excellent promoting coverage.

I know this EVIL, DEVILISH virus has us scared and DON'T know what to do, but I believe music would help us all, and if we keep the CDC's requirements, we can STILL practice and play gigs and have fun. I have a picture that reads: "WHERE WORDS FAIL, MUSIC SPEAKS". In many ways, music can be and IS OUR COMFORT ZONE. Let's use it and help make those around us that are suffering, I don't know, feel at ease, feel like there IS hope.

Here's an idea: Some way, some how, let's all the musicians and bands come together and have a benefit concert. Even if it's just a single person that wants to show their support and talents. It can be Amateurs to Semi-Professionals, maybe even Professional Bands. I know this would be a BIG project, but, IF WE BELIEVE AND WANT TO HELP AND BE SUPPORTIVE, this WILL HAPPEN.

I would like to do some traveling as well, and play at various locations and venues.
