SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Middle aged technology professional, with a passion for loud, angry, fast, challenging music. I grew up playing the piano/keyboards, but then got caught up in the whole family/career thing, and lost touch with my inner musician for more than a decade. Just over 15 years ago, I picked up the bass guitar, and haven't looked back.
My interests have changed over the years. When I started my bass journey, I was heavily into heavy, funky rock (eg. RHCP, RATM), and once I had built some basic skills, revisited the classic prog rock I played as a young keyboardist (eg. Yes, ELP, Rush). I formed a jam band that played a few gigs in the 2000s and early 2010s, mostly playing a lot of classic rock, then moved from NYC to NJ, where unfortunately that couldn't continue.
About 5 years ago, I re-discovered my love of truly heavy music, and ended up falling deep into the Technical Death Metal rabbit hole. Just over a year ago, I decided to get serious about my own technical skills, and found a fantastic instructor who has been pushing me hard, and the progress had been pretty exciting.
I'm looking for a band of like minded people to play this extreme music. I have a Masters degree in Physics, a 40+ year career as an IT professional (Software and Infrastructure Engineer), and my views on politics and society are not very mainstream, but extremely progressive and inclusive. No MAGAts, please....

EQUIPMENT
I own a pair of very weathered Ibanez basses (4 and 5 string), the old Boss GT-10B, and a Hartke amp that unfortunately doubled as a cat scratching post.
In 2024, I am looking to re-invest in ALL of my gear, and upgrade to touring quality professional equipment.
