Planet Mercury was formed in 2017 when Patrick Connolly (bass) and Michaela Logan (vocals, guitar) responded to an online advert from Jeremiah Picard (lead vocals/guitar) in regards to forming a band in Massachusetts. After the first meet up, the band quickly found common inspirations through many rock, pop, and punk bands of the late 90's and early 2000's, and they immediately began writing their own original material. Michael Gibb soon joined the band as their drummer, and Planet Mercury quickly made its way into the local Boston and Worcester music scenes.

In January of 2018, Planet Mercury released their first EP entitled, "Eunoia." The EP consisted of four tracks, and helped the band gain local attention. In August of 2018, tracking began for their second project, "None in a Million," with the help of producer Chris Piquette of No Boundaries Studios. After the release of this sophomore EP in February of 2019, the band found success through songs such as "Burn" and "Cynical Serenade."

In the summer of 2019, Michael Gibb stepped down as drummer, and Chris Lovejoy joined soon after. After another lineup change in 2020, drummer Chris Lovejoy stepped up to sing lead vocals, while Michaela and Pat remained on guitar and bass, and the band continued its rise.
