ABOUT

I've been playing professionally on and off for almost 20 years. I'm not really so much of a rigid "this scale goes here" type player as a "Jam it out, it'll get there" type person. That doesn't mean I have no musical acumen, I have a great sense for what works, I'm just not really all that rigid and am always for bending the rules.

My primary musical output in recorded form was with the band Dreams of Vertigo, although I played with many more bands. I put the video for Head Vs. Heart on this profile, but if you're interested we have whole albums on Spotify and other platforms. I served as lead and rhythm guitarist, occasional (VERY) lyricist, and I even screamed on one song. But my primary task was always to contribute leads and solos.

Influences

In my spare time I listen to everything from gangsta rap to Lamb of God and movie OSTs - I suspect that all of it makes its way into my playing somewhere. My primary influences are metal, though. Type O Negative, Avatar, HIM (Don't hate, their guitarist is SICK).

EQUIPMENT

A lot.

Gibsons, Epiphones, a Gretsch Tim Armstrong. I experiment a lot tonally and it comes through in my gear choices.

I don't have a full half stack setup because I haven't needed it. I've been using a Spark 40 practice amp to keep my skills up. If we jam and I think it's got potential then I'll go get a proper live setup, no problem there.
