ABOUT

Productive Members of Society (PMS): a pop-rock band with catchy melodies and witty lyrics about the collision of life, technology and love in a digital world.

Detroit's Productive Members of Society is not your grandfather's tech-driven rock quartet.

It would be strange if PMS were your grandfather's band, considering the age of its members. But if your grandfather comes out to a PMS show sometime he's likely to adopt the band as his own, and they'd be happy to see him.

Their lyrics often focus on a computer-centric, techy-overloaded society where information is at every finger tip -- yeah, every finger tip. Their music is pure, melody-riddled rock. One can expect a few catchy hooks to crawl into his or her brain data system after a PMS show.

In fact, the PMS members are working on a way to insert music directly into the listener's brain. It's a work in progress -- the lead singer is studying to become a doctor, of course, with a focus on human brain music-insertion.

They meet weekly at an old industrial warehouse in Detroit for what many would call rehearsal. Turns out, that's exactly what PMS calls it, too.

The guys are constantly thinking of new ways to rock your face off while they tend to their day jobs.

They're friendly, nerdy and caffeinated -- on a normal day. Don't be shy if you ever find yourself at one of their shows. These guys only take one thing seriously: Having fun.
