HAVE DRUMS WILL TRAVEL

"Eclectic" is probably the best word to describe me. I started learning and playing in the 7th grade, classically trained to read music as well as play. In school bands we played everything from Shostakovich to Earth Wind and Fire to Chuck Mangione. After high school, I branched off into independent bands who played classic rock/pop, to swing to jazz. My last few gigs were 4 musicals with Daytona State College, including "My Fair Lady," "Of Thee I Sing," "Bat Boy," and "Godspell," a many year running gig with my church playing contemporary Christian, and a just-for-fun classic country gig with some of the most amazing old country pickers I've ever known.

I have an audition "reel" posted on You Tube. Search for drummaboy007 and you'll find it.

I can play by ear and can read music. I have played with both, and really don't necessarily have a preference.

Influences

Early influences were Neal Peart (of course), Buddy Rich, Phil Ehart. Later influences were Sheila E, Phil Collins and many others.

I have no one "style" of music preference. In the words of the great Duke Ellington, "If it sounds good, it is good.."

My ideal dream gig is to be a part of something big, like Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I have no desire to be a star, just to be part of something amazing.

EQUIPMENT

My current kit is a 5-piece Tama Superstar Classic kit. It is "mic'd" with a Yamaha EAD-10, so it will easily fit into a mixer and can give many custom sounds and feels.

I have recently renovated a 200 sf room in my home as a practice studio. It is air-conditioned and has a 2000 watt sound system and a 12 channel mixer. (This room is also available for rent.)
