Band mix does a good job hiding contact info for free members.
I used to play with Sound Decision Band. f rom Seacoast NH//ME
they are still good friends and will forward any message to me
they have taken Kom (with a c) cast (one word) out of my screen name but if they leave the name in here you can put the puzzle together and contact med.
The Audio clips are of me singing and playing drums.
My email is below. Bandmix often edits personal emails placed in these postings. I use (dot) net and if you use my user name dmcatavey with the "at symbol" you've got my email.
It's the best way to get me as I only use premium membership infrequently.
I am a strong lead singer, can also back up and find it easy to find a harmony part. I'm steady and simple on drums. Less is more, I play at a reasonable volume suitable for the event (you won't need to ask me to turn down) Also play Conga, Bongo's & assorted percussion. I read music. I'm easy going and look to add to the band by blending in so that the band as a whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts (hope you get my drift). I feel I always have more to learn from others and thus don't bring bad attitude or ego to the table.
Music is a bridge that spans generations, I've worked with younger musicians successfully but not really interested in loud Metal (sorry, it's my taste choice). If you are a proficient musician of any age you'll find I'm easy to work with. I'm a very good choice if you need a last minute fill in.
E-mail: dmcatavey for fastest response.(after the "at"symbol should be "" , I guess bandmix doesn't allow other email to be in profile so my personal email is dmcatavey "at symbol" (dot) net. Thanks
Look forward to meeting you!
p/s: When recording I used my best cymbals (I have a lot of Zildjian cymbals) I used "K" dark crash, 16" and 18" with K ride and K/Z hi hats. The drums are all mahogany and sound sweet. The engineer at the studio (who has been around some of the best) commented on how nicely tuned and how beautifully rich the sound of the drums and cymbals were. The recording can only capture so much. Live, is the way to hear 'em
All that I've played with have been impressed with the quality sound. Still I'm a "less is more player" nothin' too fancy.
I enjoy a wide variety of genres. You can see from the recordings here that I sing a lot of classic rock. I do have an interest in swing and smooth jazz, American Song Book sorts of things. Note my Etta James cover, I could do this stuff all night!
Thanks for your interest!
