ABOUT

I am an easy going metal drummer wanting to find some folks who like to play "moderately complex heavy as hell metal" without pushing 300bpm. I don't have that kind of energy, I am not that fast, and I find it difficult to put the detail I want into a song if the tempo is too high. Maybe something along the lines of Cannibal Corpse and Blood Red Throne. I could also do stuff like Disturbed, Pantera, Static X, Tool, Rob Zombie. I am looking to find a group or an artist who can communicate what they want from me musically. It would be nice if I could get MP3 tracks of the material I am expected to learn. I hate going to practice when someone hasn't learned the song, wasting time. I only play drums but I love to talk about musical styles and arranging the music to flow and work together with all the parts in the song. I have electronic drums and acoustic so I can be loud or quiet depending on the practice situation. I am also proficient with computers and cannabis. I can also do other styles like p-funk, groove, classic rock, some modern rock styles like power metal (iron maiden style) or even static-x/rob zombie industrial styling. Anyway, you should email me if you are interested. I need something to do besides sitting on my ass playing video games and 420ing all day.

Influences

Aeon, In Battle, The Faceless, Braindrill, Nile, Necrophagist, Meshuggah... You get the picture. I grew up playing other styles, but most other music bores the ever living sh*t out of me. However... Above all else, I hold exceptional musicianship high on my list. I don't care if you play country, jazz, bluegrass, or DnB. As long as it doesn't waste my time, I can probably appreciate it.

EQUIPMENT

Old beat up Roland TD-8 and a pretty nice Roland amp. It's loud enough to make me want to turn it down. I'd like to get a bass amp to compliment it. I also own an old Sonor birch set that I never thought sounded very good for metal. I play Sabian cymbals and I use Axis pedals. I used to keep a Les Paul Studio around with a 5150 amp for people who came over and didn't bring a guitar but I sold it when I moved.
