I'm a singer/songwriter currently searching for a band. I've got a few years experience singing with bands, but never quite reached the level of recording and touring. I'm looking for a band that aims to record and tour, and I'm very committed, willing to practice at least once, possibly even twice a week. I'm free weeknights after 6pm, and possibly weekends with some lead time. Generally I improvise lyrics while jamming with the band in order to create a melody, then round them out later. I have a notebook full of lyrics that I can adapt.
Outside of music, I'm a writer with a published graphic novel called The XII, an artist, and a dungeon master. I need creativity in my life, so let's make some music.

My biggest influence is Queens of the Stone Age. My voice is a bit deeper than Josh Homme's but its somewhat similar. I'd say I sound somewhat like Maynard James Keenan from Tool. I can do smooth vocal styles like Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys, or bluesier styles likes Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys.
The above are strong influences, as far as taste in music goes, I have a pretty wide range, from metal to funk, pop to jam bands. If it's good, I can dig it.
My lyrics tend to dark and ironic. I like to sing about sad sh*t in a beautiful way.

I have a keyboard and an acoustic guitar, but to be frank, I'm not great at either. I'd be down to bring the keyboard to practice and I can add some chords to a track, but vocals are my definitely my wheelhouse.
If I find the right band and things work out, I'd be happy to chip in for equipment though.
