Whats up! My name is Kyle S. No, I dont snort redbull and punch holes in drywall. That is why I am a drummer! I know that joke is so 2019, so what. Haha
Ive been playing drum kit and rudimental/marching snare for 24 years. I practice snare daily, yes I know my rudiments as well as hybrid rudiments better than i know myself. Drum corps is what I consider my sport and I am also Drum Corps(DCI) alumni. MARCHING BAND IS A SPORT! (youre better off not attempting to challenge me on that believe me.) Choosing band in school was one of the best decisions i ever made regarding my musical abilities. Fair warning..my opinion of music, musical quality, theory, expression and musicianship is very critical, precise and convicted. Music is my passion and savior it is rightfully so. Thats why we call it passion. Music is not easy and it is not for everyone!
Im well versed in music theory, composition, history and performance.
Metal head? Yes the hell i am! Techdeath is my favorite genre, although there are tpo many to have just one favorite. I was raised on classic rock, so i will always be a fan. And as a musician its my responsibility to keep the classics alive! Respect our elders, right? Thrash was my OG go to genre from the start. I got a Slayer tat on my 18th birthday if that says anything. Im a huge progressive as well as powermetal fan as well. To be honest, I have an admiration and apprieciation for all genres of music, as any musician should. So yes I LOVE jazz, old school rap, prog rock, industrial, big band, classic rock, oldies, blues, classical and tiny amounts of country. Nu metal is just a sub genre of pop to me even tho Joey Jordison is my all time favorite drummer and my biggest inspiration as a young buck. What can i say, he was explosive and highly talented. Joey was slipknot!. They suck now, end of story, i said what i said.
