ABOUT
am a Chicago actress, working with a wonderful group of local creatives on a new play written by Maria Welser called Riveting. On Friday, March 25th at 7PM, we will hold a staged reading at OMWP Studios (2113 W. Armitage Ave), an art gallery in Bucktown, and we are looking for one band to open for us (15 minutes worth of songs) and another band to perform at intermission (10 minutes worth of songs).
We are looking for jazz bands whose music is reminiscent of the World War II era (e.g., Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby). Additionally, we're looking for artists that play R&B Soul or pop soul (think Lawrence, Leon Bridges, or Joey Dosik).
Submissions will only be accepted from performers who have been fully vaccinated. The event will be small (20-40 people). We do not have any equipment or gear, so we prefer bands who have their own equipment, though we will help you in the setting up and breaking down of any equipment you bring.
There will be no payment for this gig, but there will be new fans, new experiences, and new opportunities.
