ABOUT

I'm a guitarist and vocalist, just North of Tampa, Florida (Forest Hills area). I am mostly playing classic rock now. Allman brothers, Eric Clapton, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, the Doors, Eagles, Doobie Bros, the Who, Santana, and others of that genre.. Also, a good mix of mellow selections from America, Seals and Crofts, Crosby-Stills-Nash, Elton John, ELP, Bowie, Super Tramp, and "oldies" from the Beatles, Stones, even the "Monkees". I'm experienced and have been playing this kind of stuff a long time.

For the classic rock, I was doing a solo act for several years called "Pan's Classics", using a well synchronized drum machine and looper to pull off a kind of one-man-band. It works, and obviously is easier on the wallet of a club owner compared to paying a full band. But the truth is I'd MUCH rather play with at least one other musician/vocalist. The base register is sorely missed, and some good vocal harmony would be a welcome addition. I'm hoping first to find a bass or keyboard player who also sings, and shares my interest in classic rock. But another guitarist/vocalist would be a welcome find too. Side notes: I have a significant history writing and recording original rock/alternative music as a kind of "Peter Pan" character, hence the reason for the "Pan's Classics" act. I was once into straight ahead jazz too. I no longer have to chops or practice time to do much of that anymore, but its in my history.

I've included some video links. Top one is a collection of song excepts and a couple are from tunes I like to jam on. Unfortunately all of it is from what friends captured with hand cameras and phones, so the sound quality is mostly crap. I trust the right musicians will see and hear beyond the noise and flaws, get some smiles out of it, and seek me out to make some better noise. :-)

Also, having nothing to do with my classic rock covers, I mentioned I've written a number of tunes under the moniker "Peter Pan". If you are interested, you can hear samples by going to pixyland-DOT-org/mymusic. On that note I should mention that if my androgynous appearance or "Peter Pan" look is a problem for you, please let's not even get started.

PS. I'm really not looking for a band situation playing multiple gigs every month. Once in a while or once/month is plenty. Also into jams. So if you think we're on the same page musically, feel free to find me online and make contact even just for occasional jamming for fun.

EQUIPMENT

A lot of Homemade gear (I'm a retired engineer). This includes a Vertical Line-array speaker system (inspired by the BOS PAS system) along with a Bass Box speaker, both powered by a Behringer mixer and an I-NUKE series amp by the same company. I also have a small Line-6 Spider series 75W stand alone amp. Of course microphones and my own effects setup.

Past Events

Come Join me once again on the patio of Tampa's fun and eclectic Red Star Rock Bar. (https://www.facebook.com/RedStarRockBar/) I'll crank out Classic Rock tunes from Beatles to Bowie, and songs that (like me!) will never grow old. Also including electric music from the Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, the Eagles, and whatever else pops into my ancient memory. :-) As always, there will be some grand pixie dust powered experiments with samplers, drum machines, and technology old enough to qualify as "steam punk", to add to the fun. I'm mainly posting this HERE, so anyone who might want to work with me can get a free "audition". Bars are best because as we all know, the more you drink, the better the musicians sound. :-)
