ABOUT

I'm Rémi, age 29, born in Marseille, France.

I am very dedicated for a casual player. I do my homework on time and I will never cancel a practice or a show the day of. I show up on time, I don't do drugs. My way of learning songs is through tabs, which is why I prefer cover bands.

Bio:

I learned the bass guitar by myself as I entered college, without any prior experience in music, mainly guided by the decision with a bunch of musician friends to set up a band, and the lack of a bass guitarist. Being a student, I could not afford any courses so I developed my own style for a few years before taking music lessons with a renown bass guitarist on the French folk scene (Marc Caballero) that would improve my proficiency. I've always played in bands. Starting with two different bands during my college years in Paris, we played live in a number of occasions related to the life around college. Then I moved to Nice, France where I met a guitarist with who I played everything ranging from funk to trash metal including hard rock and blues, we eventually created our own band, Evolving Fuse, that would become my main band for 2 years, and with who I played in a number of local gigs and private parties. The repertory of covers included a wide range of inspirations including Guns 'n' Roses, Metallica, Muse, RHCP, Radiohead, ... In parallel, and beside usual jamming with friends, I managed to have side projects like a Rock band (System of a down, Skunk Anansie, Metallica, Incubus, ...) and a Pop-Rock band, Janis et les Poilus (Arctic Monkeys, Led Zeppelin, RHCP, Babyshambles, ...), with which I played live in the Nice area.

I moved in the beginning of 2011 to Miami, FL and was welcomed as the new bass guitarist of Trash Kulture, a local band that helped me expanding my experience to original songs and composition, and played live a few times in the Miami area. I was missing covers though and joined Decadance Unit that I kept gigging with around Miami with several sets of 80's covers for about 2 years. I also joined for a few months a rock 'n' roll band but never made it to live gigs as I had to relocate to Mass. I have played for the past few months with a casual classic rock band in Wakefield, MA that is ramping down.
