Music composer/producer/keyboardist Renaldo Johnson is the founder of Dont Quit Music (BMI).
Renaldo Johnson was born and raised in King George, VA. His mother was a well known minister and music teacher. Renaldo started playing the piano at the age of 5, and at the age of 12, he was playing regularly for the youth choir at church. It wasn't until after his mother passed, he began listening to other styles of music such as R&B, Soul, and Funk. In his teens, he became fascinated with analog synthesizers, especially bass synthesizers as he would learn famous bass lines from songs ranging from Parliament, The Gap Band, Stevie Wonder, and Prince just to name a few.
Renaldo has performed live with Top-40/Variety bands throughout the Washington DC area. While working with a number of groups and artists, he became interested not only the music, but also the aspect of recording and producing original songs for groups he performed with and solo artists. He has recorded in major studios and released singles, and has a library of unreleased tracks and songs. He is proficient in using Logic Audio X for composing, arranging, recording, and editing tracks and songs. His music is also published by Getty Images (Formerly known as Pump Audio), who licenses music to creative professionals in tv, film, and music industries worldwide. Renaldo is a member of the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), and publishes his music through his publishing company Dont Quit Music (BMI).
In 2012, Renaldo worked with singer/songwriter Gena Smith and studio vocalist/solo artist Kathryn Raio to release a Pop/R&B song titled "Don't Wait" available on iTunes, which has received regular airplay on internet radio stations around the world.
In 2014, Renaldo performed with the West Park Band; a local R&B/Soul/Jazz band based out of the Washington, DC area. For more information about West Park Band, visit the website at:
In 2017, Renaldo collaborated with Ellis F. Merriman to co-write and co-produce "The Sugar Bear Shaka" for the Legengary Gregory "Sugar Bear" Elliott of E.U. Experience Unlimited.
