Bass Guitar.

Reptoids are looking for a new bassist to join in an all - original established Chicago band that kicks some ass with mind bullets!

We're looking for an experienced, hard hitting, rhythm focused bassist (not a lead guitarist looking to play bass on the side. Also prefer 4-string bassist). We'll be rehearsing 2x/wk and playing shows a min 2x/month around Chicago and nearby cities. Potentially several mini-tours over long weekends as well. We've got a few records, but the new stuff primarily heard on our from the Slayed EP is the direction we're headed.

Influences include:

* High on Fire
* The Life and Times
* Mastodon
* Sleater-Kinney
* Black Sabbath
* PJ Harvey
* Planes Mistaken for Stars
* Marnie Stern
* Dinosaur Jr
* Queens of the Stone Age
* Gang of Four
* The Jesus Lizard.

Here's some early reviews of the new record:

* "The three-track Slayed, goes from ferocious ("We Are the Wolves") to playful in an I-step-on-your-face kind of way ("Tramp Stamp")" Chicago Reader
* "A pair of new influences has begun to seep in: metal and a proclivity for catchy vocal melodies" The Onion
* "Punky and spunky, the Reptoids growl in a way that recalls a darker L7 on their new album Slayedd" Time Out Chicago
