I am a 50 year old piano/organ player who played his first professional gig at the age of 16. In 2011 I played over fifty shows with two different bands. In 2014 I recorded and released a 7 inch single. I recently moved to Athens from New Jersey and would like to establish an original psychedelic/garage rock band in this town. My reputation has always been that of a guy who shows up early, sober and ready to play. I am low maintainence and easy to get along with. I DO NOT DO BAND DRAMA. Influences
As a keyboard player, my first influence was Billy Preston. When I first started playing I figured he had to be the best keyboard player in the world because he was the only guy who recorded with both The Beatles and The Stones. Billy Powell was another early influence because when I was thirteen years old every garage band in my town wanted to play Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. Over the years I have developed a very eclectic style where my left hand is dominant. I play garage rock in the NJ tradition (Knickerbockers, Dough Boys, Misfits, Feelies, Smithereens, Monster Magnet, Grip Weeds) which means The Beatles are always a dominant influence.
EQUIPMENT
My main ax is a Kurzweil K-1000.
