Richard Earley

Band to Join.

I've been playing bass and guitar for about 25 years or so now. Late 80s early 90s I was involved in a few projects both covers and originals. Played out at a few west-side bars but quit when my oldest son was born. Played a mix of 80s alternative mixed with some classic rock. I continued to play and write for my own amusement and satisfaction and started to expand my playing influences with jazz, funk and blues. I wanted to try to push my playing so I joined a forming rock cabaret band a few years ago playing a mixture of rock pop and jazz in a cabaret setting and mood.

However since the cabaret scene in Cleveland is virtually non-existent it was doomed to fail at the onset. But as a learning experience and an artistic statement it was satisfying. Next up was an 80's based alternative band (cure, costello, talking heads). The musicianship of all involved was top-notch but it disbanded after losing a few members.

I'm currently with playing with Identity Crisis, a multi-genre band, based out of Stow.

I'm a fan of many genres from classical to jazz to rock. My influences are just as varied ranging from John Entwistle, Paul McCartney, Sting to Jaco, Marcus, Ray Brown, Gary Willis. I don't think that a musician ever stops learning, ever stops evolving - there is always something new around the corner that can add another nuance to your style.
