I'm putting together a classic rock tribute band and need band members who share my vision. Emphasis will be on harmonies and what I call authenticity. I am pretty versatile and can fill in any missing pieces, but ideally I want three female vocalists (if any can double on an instrument, great, but not required), 3 horns (two trumpets, 1 sax, or a trombone, trumpet and sax ala Chicago), bass guitar, rhythm and lead guitars, drums, and keyboardist. It is going to be a large band (kind of like herding cats) but the idea is to play the best of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and some 80s. We will cover groups like the Chiffons, Shangri-Las, Ronettes, Beatles, Four Seasons, Everly Brothers, Beach Boys, even some ELO, to name a few. I want ever member to be able to sing at least backup harmony. Again, the emphasis will be on accurate harmonies, and backing that accurately duplicates the original recording. Think Fab Four. What they are to the Beatles I want this group to be to all genres of classic rock from that era. Working name for group is The Third Street Exit. Let's have some fun and wow some people with something that hasn't really been done well since Sha-Na-Na. When was the last time you heard a tribute band do justice to groups like the Shirelles, Chiffons, Ronettes, etc? My guess is never … until now. It's an ambitious dream but it can happen.
Contact me here if interested and let's talk. It has been a while but I had some extensive experience years ago with creating a few bands so I know what it takes. All I ask is that you have a love for classic rock and want to perform it well and will be committed to the group musically. Oh, and to have some fun.
