While my first instrument was the spinet organ in the 1980's, I really fell in love with music when I started playing the drums in 1990. I enjoy playing in lots of different styles from straight up rock to folk music and most things in between. I've played in pit orchestras for community theater productions, and I've had the pleasure to play with many different groups including bar bands, jazz ensembles, and Irish bands.
In addition to playing drum set, I also play bongos and congas, djembe, pandiero, bodhran, and a whole host of other hand-percussion instruments. I am a drum circle facilitator trained by Paulo Mattioli.
Additionally, I blow blues harp (harmonica), play (mainly acoustic) guitar, accompany on bass, tickle the ivories, play the Native American flute, and even play the didgeridoo! I do a little singing as well (mostly to put my kids to sleep or to do around the campfire at Scout events.
My wife and kids are musicians too! In fact, my wife is a certified music teacher K-12 and teaches full-time in the suburbs.
