ABOUT

Hey,

(If anyone wants to reach me: fb: /rick.gionfriddo Cell: 9fiftyfour3twentysix5twozero3)
I am Rick. I am 34, and I scream, and scream well. I do hardcore style clean screaming vocals, both melodic and amelodic, as well as Vocal Fry AND Falsechord/death growl screams (I can hit arpeggios with screams and do pop songs note for note, mostly because it's funny), and can also do inhales (though I prefer to stick to exhales). I can do Highs, Lows, Mids, and Gutturals/Tunnel Throat/Pig Squeals (EXHALE fry and false cord pig squeals). I can also do 'gritty singing' and clean vox, though admittedly full cleans aren't my vocal strong suit, but I have gotten a lot better at them over the years. I am willing to play Death Metal, Deathcore, Black Metal, Hardcore, Deathgrind, Prog, or REALLY heavy Metalcore, or any combination of those, though I do prefer melodic/symphonic/progressive metal... No sellout music, though, as far as metal goes. Punk and ska, pretty much anything goes, but preferably nothing too emo, cliche, or sellout driven and PLEASE, no matter which genre, I can't reiterate enough, no sellouts, and NO Drama. There is such thing as having a populist sound without selling out - it has more to being fake and desperate for fame. It's cringy. I don't do hardcore drugs, only dabble in weed and hookah once in a blue moon, and sometimes I'll do the odd psychadelic, and rarely drink. I am looking for a drummer for my deathcore influenced prog/death metal band/web band, or else I'm looking for a working or close to working project, though I don't mind starting from scratch. I am NOT for hire or temp; I am looking to JOIN or help START a band, and I am all business. Originally from South Florida, where some of the other members of my web project reside, I currently reside in the south side of Tacoma, WA, near the 512.

I have my own PA, I have my own Mics (dynamic instrument and dynamic/condenser vocal), a professional ZOOM Portable Recorder & USB recording interface/control surface (a ZOOM R8, to be specific), A Behringer U-Phoria 404HD, a Zoom U-22 interface, an old M-Audio 2496 PCI sound card, an 8 channel analog mixer, 2 outboard Tube Preamps, and also fully licensed copies of REAPER 4, Harrison Consoles Mixbus 5.x, EZ Drummer, and Guitar Pro 6, as well as experience with recording on Linux. I know music theory fairly well, not to toot my own horn. I have a Seismic Audio half stack that I pair with Joyo micro lunchbox hybrid amps, an Ibanez RGT42 with stock pickups and Seymour Duncan Active Blackouts preamp, an original 2003 run Ibanez RG7321, and a 2005 B.C.Rich Platinum Virgo retrofitted with an SH-8 Invader and Hot Stack from Seymour Duncan, as well as an Epiphone Les Paul with Guitar Fetish GFS Dream 180 humbucker and Dream 90 P90 with Seymour Duncan Active Blackouts preamp. I also have access to my girlfriend's bass equipment, including some Ibanez SR series basses and a Seismic Audio 1x15 bass cab.

A little about me: I am Left handed (I play guitar/bass righty), a bit of a geek/nerd, and extremely dedicated. I am VERY opinionated, especially about politics. I can't stand extreme arrogance, and thus try not to be as such, but of course nobody's perfect. I am trying to keep this post civil, though usually I swear a lot. I am also an avid Linux User/Computer Geek (I have a home built computer). I'm currently in 3 different bands: Chained To Conform (/chainedtoconform/, looking for a drummer), Rites of Yama (hiatus), and an as yet unnamed project I'd like to start with my girlfriend (/nikkimonikki/) that is currently looking for people.

The songs I have uploaded... I did the vocals, the guitars, and the MIDI programming for the VST's used for the bass and the drums, it's a cover with the vocals edited out, or it is a recording from a previous band...
