Rik Castillo is a Cuban-American jazz guitarist and composer within the Bebop, Latin jazz, Afro-Cuban & mainstream jazz idioms. He is one of the student of the legendary guitarist Pat Martino, and he is noted for the beauty and complexity of his compositions.
Rik Castillo's music offers a fresh perspective about Latin Jazz Music. Harmony, rhythm & articulation from traditional Jazz and Afro-Cuban music are combined in an exquisite way.
Rik has performed with Norman Bataille Jazz Quartet, Miami Silver Band, Rafael Valdivia, Adriana Lord, Terrence Alfonso Bowry, Juan Camacho & others.
He studied classical guitar with one of the most recognized teacher of the instrument in Cuba, Marta Cuervo; and Jazz Guitar with one of the greatest guitarist of all time Pat Martino.
