ABOUT

* * * Now Playing Solo Acoustic Shows at Restaurants and Dinner Clubs in the Upstate * * *

I am a 50-year old rhythm & riff guitar player working on a catalog of 210 + songs from the 60's through today to play restaurants, dinner clubs, parties, festivals, etc. I am a mature, experienced musician, clean, sober, prompt, dependable, committed -- seeking others who are likewise and want to play top-notch shows (not just stay at home and jam). I am in this for fun and a few dollars, as I like my day job too much. I am also a good collaborator, and I do not take myself all that seriously. Chemistry among band members is very important.

Lots of bands already out there play southern rock, & blues, so I'll let them -- I have no interest in southern rock, country, blues, or metal. I would really like to play solid, energetic, melodic, garage rock / power pop. You know, stuff with great hooks, harmony vocals, and go-go boots. Take British Invasion, crank the amps and add a touch of psychedelic punk -- you get the picture. I play Rickenbacker 6 and 12-string guitars, so that should give you a pretty good idea.

I AM SEEKING:

A tight, big band, jazz-influenced, Bun E-/ Ringo style DRUMMER (Yes, I admire Neil Peart too -- just not what I'm looking for regarding power pop).

A tight, groove, melodic BASS player who understands what bass is about, yet can add some sweet riffs at the perfect time.

A compatible LEAD GUITARIST who can both carry rhythm while I'm playing a riff but can *especially* play a tasteful, sweet melody lead (Anyone out there? Plenty of scale shredders, but not what I'm after). Of course, there could be plenty of chances to "let things fly" when the song and energy align.

QUALIFICATIONS -- I would like to join with other musicians of similar, self-disciplined, professional-yet-fun attitude and commitment who are excited about actually learning songs and putting out top-notch performance. Age is important too -- so that we all know the same songs, can speak the same language, and have a better chemistry. I have high personal standards for my part, and you should too for yours. That said, keeping the FUN in perspective and focus is key! Take your role seriously, but not yourself and we can have a blast!

I am committed to learning songs and putting on a quality SHOW that is fun, engaging, and will get repeat venues.

Gentlemen, Ladies, Interested? Are you old enough to remember and know how but still young enough to get out there and do something about it? Please call me -- let's talk over coffee and compare notes! 864-320-8441 Look up my website!
