ABOUT

I'm a psychologist - so I have a day job, and I'm not looking to give up on that. However, rock music is my passion, I'm pretty serious about recording and gigging. I don't have any delusions about being famous. But I want to treat the process very seriously, because it's really important to me. I would like to find more mature bandmates who understand what it's like to have a family and obligations.

I view myself as a rock singer-songwriter. I have some strong hooks and lyrics, but I'm having a hard time putting them together. I am itching to find some people who are good enough to help me make it happen. I'm looking for creativity. I don't want to make music that sounds like someone else's.

Influences

My biggest influences are Modest Mouse (Building Something... Lonesome Crowded West), Sonic Youth (Experimental Jetset, Sister, Sonic Nurse, Dirty), Radiohead (In Rainbows, Hail, OK Computer), Fugazi (everything), Nirvana, Alt-J. I would really like Deathcab if they didn't sound so teeny-bopper. I also love the Drive-by Truckers (but they're not an influence).

Thom York, Kim Gordon, and Ian Mackaye are my idols. I have a man-crush on Jonny Greenwood for everything he can do (not his looks). I like really emotional and edgy stuff.
