First started in 1964 when my older brother showed me how the notes went for Peter Gun. This was done on our grandfather's Gibson. All I remember about it was not total acoustic it had a black pick-up.
Bought my first Silvertone electric and a separate amp for $50-bucks, from the neighbor across the street where I use to live in Texas. Eventually upgraded to an Emerald Green Chet Atkins Special (which back in 66' its price was $397+tax). Then acquired a tear drop looking Vox with 3 pickups, this guitar was given to Willie Earl McDonald of Dimmitt, TX (whom I last seen in Dallas Texas and is one who accomplished being the keyboard player he desired). Today my axe is a PRS Single Cut (Electric-Dual Hum-buckers) & Jasmine Acoustic (Non-Electric).

Influences towards my guitar training would be these following artist or members of a group in some form or fashion by learning at least one song of each artist (except for: Joe Satriani, Dream Theater, Evanescence, Sons of the Pioneer, and a few other artist, but will learn if part of a list) or do want to learn from:
Joe Satriani, Stevie Via, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Dream Theater, Van Morrison, Kansas, Who, Led Zepplin, James Gang, Eagles, AC/DC, Ozzy and his collaborations, White Snake, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Styx, Evanescence, .Eagles, Alannah Myles, Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, Wild Cherry, Don Henley, Gleen Frey, Joe Walsh & all his collaborations', Judas Priest, Megadeath, Chicago, Cinderella, Sons of the Pioneer (they had this extreme wild guitarist who knew how to actually shredded very well in Country & Western [C & W], but it sounded more aggressive than todays picking in C & W), listened to soul when it was top pick but always seem to lean towards the more uplifted beats of any style which would include listening for time being Jazz, etc. Of course this does not mean I know every song from each of these artist. Wouldn't mind learning all this music so if anyone if up for the challenge contact me by phone at 719-627-0570, ask for Dino Robert.
