123 von lynX - Collateral Murder (Wikileaks version 1b) - Free Chelsea Manning!Second edition of my techno version of Wikileaks' Collateral Murder suitable for performance at open-air demonstrations on high volume public address amplification.
The intention is to underline the importance of transparency for a healthy democracy and to support whistleblowers for providing transparency where transparency is due.
From an artistic point of view it is quite polarising to turn the sounds of a massacre into a dance track. This is somehow intentional, as if to make the audience feel bad about having fun. To make you aware of the privilege you have to exercise your right to party.
Still, use this track with care as the circumstances may not be appropriate.
RPG = Rocket-propelled grenade, a shoulder-launched anti-tank weapon.
115 Hey Saturday Sun - 1989 (instr edit von lynX)https://soundcloud.com/heysaturdaysun-1/6-1989 was submitted to http://soundcloud.com/groups/just-like-the-80s -- Something about it made me spend more time with it.. so I made a version I could play on the dancefloors, but only if the audience is ready and deserves it. With best regards to the Saturday Sun crew from Terni. Keep making good music!
von lynX - violence on the dancefloorThe version I actually use on the dancefloor, and it's amazing how it works. Some dance music is for the girls. See below for the version that was released on GOMMA records.
void main - penguin planet (italian edit von lynX) - HI-FI MP3-FREEIn occasion to this year's LinuxTag after show party, here's an italo disco edit of a curious trance track I found on an OpenMusic CD. The original track had 138 bpm! You can find it at http://openmusic.linuxtag.org and enjoy the diff. In fact its funnier to listen to the original first!
This material may be distributed only subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Green OpenMusic License, v1.1 or later (http://openmusic.linuxtag.org/green.html), which is roughly like a (CC) with attribution clause.
von lynX - no singing when i dj - 0aM [unsigned prototype]I played a spontaneous live jam for the shooting of an upcoming video in Oslo. Eleven minutes is the actual time it took to make this track. Yes, my live shows sound something like this now – and all elements are played live. You can watch me how I build it up synth by synth. Although you should rather dance. While the video documenting the jam is still in the making, this is a cleaned up version of that live jam (in fact these are just the loops I recorded in that moment, not the live things I did on top). Credit goes out to Gazebo for the basic drum beat. He constructed this in 2 minutes as I asked him about the drum pattern for his 80s debut single "Masterpiece." It is actually intended for a different production, but I got socially pressured to use it for this recording, too. ;-) I should probably also credit Alexander Robotnick for inspiration, as the bass line sounds somewhat like him - although I recorded it spontaneously out of my head. I have some thirty more jams like this one from the preparations to my Oslo live show that I could probably work into actual tracks. Or I could jam some more. :-)
DDR MODULE - Bitmusik (edit von lynX)Italian friends of mine think the way electronic music got forbidden on East German radio sometime around 1988 was extremely inappropriate. That's why the year after the wall came down. This is Honecker's announcement on radio why so-called "bit musik" was no longer welcome in the so-called "German Democratic Republic." This event is not to be confused with the banning of "Beatmusik" in the 70s. Actually I might have all my facts wrong, so don't take this for a history lesson. :)
I edited this track because the original proved hard to beatmatch. With a new intro in front and an outro at the end it is easy to mix now. Sorry if I can't offer you a download for this one. I have ideas for a more advanced version of this edit, anyway.. so consider it a work in progress.
By the way, the "Disk Dump & Restore" module on IBM mainframes was popular among "hackers" as it had the funny side effect of making files available that were supposed to be invisible.

that's a smart thing to say (excerpt of the vinyl 12")Bomb #1 in the boutique of bombs. Unfortunately Neuton records went bankrupt after this release (hey, it sold out - so it wasn't my fault! ;-)) so there hasn't been any follow-up release in any similar vein. If you managed to grab one of the 3000 vinyls, hold on to it! You can still get a reprint on Hadshot Haheizar's label compilation. See www.italectro.de for details.
