Pro drummer looking for band to play out and record. So, if you like to read..a little backstory.
I Started formal lessons in 4'th grade. Classically trained through high school. Played in orchestra and marching band. After high school went on to play just about every kind of genre out there. Classic rock of course. Started with some guys who were still seniors doing Zepplin, Hendrix, Allman Bros., Spirit, and more. After they graduated the band broke up., go figure. Then went on the road touring mid west with a trio doing all the classics from the 50s, and 60s. I formed/played in several bands from my home town doing everything from blues to country(and western), RnB, classic rock, top 40 dance, blues, hard rock, metal (deep purple was considered that at the time) Todd Rundgren, Steely Dan, etc., etc. lots of great music. Opened up for the Association once during that time.
Toured again in the mid 80s all over the Midwest, culminating with a 15 week cruise ship gig in the Bahamas. Lived in Tampa for a year and while there was a drum tech for A.J. Pero (Twisted Sister) and Alan White (Yes) at their drum clinic held at Thorobred Music. Moved to New York the following year where again played and recorded with various bands, most notably, Out Of Bounds band which was voted best new blues band in 1995 by the Syracuse Blues Society. I also was privileged to have been in Bernie Clark and the Rhythm Sharks, one of the best blues bands in the area. I auditioned for them at a gig they were playing at Legends Lounge in Syracuse. Their drummer, Dave Olsen, who had played with Robert Cray, was leaving to tour with Savoy Brown in Europe. So I sat in for three songs and was hired on the spot. Dave paid me a very nice compliment concerning my playing. Moved to Nashville in '99 and continued to meet fine players and played in several projects of various genres. Started recording at home in 2000. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to record many very talented singer/songwriters, and bands. One band in particular that I really enjoyed was "Broken Toy". One of the two lead guitarists was Rik Blanz, who had toured with Molly Hatchett all over the U.S. and Europe, so we played a lot of their songs as well as other southern rock/metal i.e. Blackfoot, Govt. Mule, etc. One of the tunes we covered, and also recorded in my home studio, is a Pat Travers song "Heat In The Street", which I posted to my Bandmix page. There is also a promo video of the Cool Heat Band, the last band I was in when I lived in Plano, Texas I have been here in the Houston area (specifically Magnolia, off FM2978) since 2016. I have pro gear..12 snares, 3 acoustic kits, and an electronic one, full p.a. w/ subs, and a butt-load of DMX- controlled pars, spots, linear wall wash, blinders, black lights, fog, animated laser show, and moving head intelligent lights (as well as recording capabilities). If any of this sounds good, let me know. Hope the timing is right. call,931.216.3787, text, or email BDB45atAOLdotCOM me anytime. BB (RockschilD)
