ABOUT

I am currently working with a great friend, entertaining under the name "Off the Record." We previously delved into a new musical direction reminiscent of the 1920s. But for now, we play covers off the records that make you sing along. If you didn't sing along to the last one, you will to this next one.

Teaching guitar - private lessons.

With little effort, the comfortable sweet spot is sounding just like Garth, Brooks & Dunn, and George Strait; even won $250 in a "Garth-a-like" contest. But I have extremely broad interests musically, from Bluegrass, Americana, Folk, and Country on one side of the spectrum to Dubstep, Reggae, Fusion Jazz and Calypso and even to basic pop & classic rock.

I have previously run a 6 piece, 5 and a 4 piece country band, and also founded a Contemporary Christian band, ranging from 5 to 10 players, for our church up north. I have done some song writing and arranging and recording of originals, (on the main video upload app, see "A Dream Become Life" or "Westwind demo") and consider myself fairly adept (though I also realize to do it well takes a significant degree of work, so I haven't done it much.) I was also previously active and am still interested in community theater, singing, dancing and acting.

I continue to be interested in getting plugged into the Greenville area music scene. Not too specific on exactly what; whether it is doing some writing and recording in studio with other talented musicians, or performing small gigs nearby, or forming up an ensemble or band to play a couple times per month - I am willing to consider many options and dive in. I try to be careful about choosing the people with whom I associate to continue a positive lifestyle. I don't plan on going on the road anytime soon, though I have often heard that suggested for me.
