My full time, touring, world music band is currently seeking an experienced rhythm guitarist (additional instrument proficiency a plus) to perform weekends starting the first weekend of March through the weekend before Memorial Day.
These gigs are at 2 Renaissance festivals.
The first is in McDade, TX and runs 8 weeks. Performance days start in the morning and end in the evening every Saturday and Sunday plus the Friday of St. Patrick's Day weekend.
After our last weekend in McDade we will immediately travel to Southern California to perform for 4 weekends there.
In a typical performance day we play 3-4 30-45 minute sets of original and traditional music. Our current list of songs in rotation includes 35 songs in the following fused genres: medieval European, Eastern European, Scandinavian, Celtic, Greek, Sephardic, Roma, "other".
Pay is a biweekly salary plus a cut of tips and 10% of merchandise sales.
An aesthetically appropriate costume is required. All band members adhere to festival performer rules during festival hours.
Camping is available.
Full time employment for the year is available if you are a good fit. We are booked every weekend from the beginning of March through October, with the exception of Memorial weekend through July 4th weekend when we have a break.

EQUIPMENT
We have a steel stringed acoustic guitar for the band. If you prefer your own guitar it must be acoustic, not look too "modern", and have a working pickup.
