Hello,

I am a 37-year-old working professional (unrelated to music) who has over the years served as a guitarist in cover bands, as a hobby. I am interested now in singing, and am looking to join a rock cover band or form a band as the singer. I'm currently taking vocal lessons and improving as a singer, but would not say I'm good yet. But, I'm working at it. This is just for fun (like I said, I have a career already), but if we get good I would like to play parties and bars and such, as time allows. For now though, my time is limited to meeting at most once a week to jam, in or around the Sugar Land area.

Like I said, I am just looking to do this for fun, but music is my biggest passion outside of family and work, so I do take it seriously enough to keep practicing and trying to improve as a musician. I am drug/drama/ego-free, and looking for the same (alcohol is not a drug, obviously :-)).

My rough list of possible cover songs that I might like to try is below. We'd be starting with the softer ones first, as I have not reached a point in my lessons where I am allowed to use distortion; plus, my voice is naturally softer. But, I'm willing to try the heavier stuff too, as I love listening to it. This is a list that is a work in progress, but should at least give an idea of the stuff I like.
