SEEKINGBand to Join, Vocalist, Lead Guitar, Keyboard.
Hi! I am new to the Charlotte area. I've played in bands all my life and am looking to start a TRIO that could easily play gigs and have a following. The vision is for this trio to have three members - me on drums and supplying some lead and backing vocals and a strong guitar and keyboard player. Both should be able to sing some lead and background and be strong musicians and one should be female, one maile. With a strong keyboardist and a guitarist with an octive pedal to emulate bass when needed, a full sound can be achieved with just 3. A small group like this is easy to fit into gig space, easy to coordinate rehersels with and makes any gig money go a bit further since split less. Each musician should be able to read their music/notes so getting a large list of songs is easy. The vision is to be a band that allows people to sing with the band and this is the "hook" that I hope would get the crowd into it and want to come and see the band and come BACK and see the band. Want to play music that people enjoy and makes them want to get up and dance - pop, funk, rock and I'd love to throw in some contemporary jazz. I can play just about anything on the drums after 40 years playing.
Simple 5 piece drum kit. Also have a coctail kit for small venues. Currently using my cajon for small spaces with a cajon pedal and hi hats make it sound very close to a drum kit.
The less to carry around the better. I especially love my foot cabasa - get that left foot going for a nice sound!
