8/2/2011 update:
Have excellent female R&B vocalist and excellent keys, as well as great drummer and me (bass). Looking for sax and guitar to complete the group. Looking to get a Stax/Muscle Shoals type of sound.
This will be a collaborative effort and team project. If you have a big ego and a desire to run things your way, please do not respond. Harmonious people are what I'm looking for. I will expect band members to submit songs they wish to play, as long as it fits with the musical direction outlined above.
Rehearsal once per week. Looking at a 40 song set list with a goal of learning 3-4 new songs per week. Members are expected to learn songs prior to practice. Since many of the initial songs will be blues classics, the learning curve should be quick.
This is my only endeavor, so I will be spending a large part of my time promoting the band. Specifically, targeting corporate events/weddings/festivals/private events. I realize that most people have families and careers, so I do not expect this to be an all-consuming effort on your part. That will be my job.
I have a professional level PA and wireless system for those with in-ear monitors. If you think this is of interest to you, I would like to talk to you. Auditions will consist of 7-8 songs that I will provide to you. Samples of your music is a must.
