Silky's StrollA day in the life of Silky Hyde, hustla and man of infinite leisure. A track off of the unreleased album "def.Infinite!", this one was banged out probably around 2003-04. Featuring, as always, the Yamaha RS-7000 Music Production System! Enjoy the stroll as Silky regulates the cashflow!
How It Feels (Inside U)
How It Feels (Inside U)A little of that silky smooth Salim Sivaad #acidgruuv for you to make some babies to! This sonic sextape was primarily conceived using my secret weapon...the Yamaha RS-7000 music production system...with a little synth action courtesy of a Roland JP-8080 module. All recorded, mixed and mastered in my trusty Roland VS-2480 digital multitrack recorder.

Fallin' AwayA throwback track from a 2003 bedroom session. Never before released! I was channeling Paul Hardcastle so hard that night!
A Love Supreme (Remix)
A Love Supreme (Remix)A mashup between "A Love Supreme" and the world-famous "Apache" break! Add some Rhodes and Vibes for flavor and...Voila!
Lullabye with Becky
Lullabye with BeckyOct 17th, 2004 I was chllin in my studio in a North Park , San Diego art gallery when I had a visit from Becky...I wish I could remember her last name. I must have met her from Myspace or Craigslist. She brought her soprano sax and her flute and I asked her to play this melody that I had been playing on the vibes for a week or so. She played it beautifully and then we jammed a bit but I never did anything with the recordings until now. I hope she's somewhere still playing. Anyway, it reminded me of a lullabye for my then infant daughter.
Africa, 2012 (Original Demo)
Africa, 2012 (Original Demo)I dusted off this groove and it reminded me of the Motherland. Imagine you're in in a rusty tin roof club in Lagos and the DJ thows this on! Sweat starts pouring from the walls as you move to the rhythm, while the whites of the eyes of the sister dancing in front of you glows in the blacklight...
Passion FluteThis beat is for all my Wu-Tang lovers out there...can't you see the RZA cooking up something like this in '94? Imagine Raekwon with the lead off 16, followed by Ghostface, with the Method Man bringing up the rear! OMG I can hear that right now! Keep believing in real Hip-Hop! Yeah my beats are mad throwback...but like Miles said, "So What?"
Depths of the Abyss
Depths of the Abyss"Creep wit me, as I crawl thru the hood..." Remember how you felt when you first heard those words back in '92? How about the first time you heard "Shook Ones" by the Infamous Mobb Deep? That's what this track is about...pure unadulterated Hip-Hop. I present my latest tribute to the spirit of the last Golden Age of Hip-Hop...Depths of the Abyss!!!!
Mission: ImperceptibleYou're a spy...a double secret agent with a penchant for martinis, fast cars and faster women. You've just silently emerged from the lagoon; your is wetsuit easily shed to reveal the immaculate tuxedo beneath. As you stroll towards the dark castle in the distance you screw the silencer onto your pistol...as this track plays ominously in the background.
Til U Come Home
Til U Come HomeFree for Download! This track is featuring vocals and lyrics by Prince Habib, a wonderful vocalist from San Diego, CA. This is some of the best work I've done in the Neo-Soul / R&B vein. The inspiration for this track is definitely Me' Shell NdegeoCello. She's a huge influence on me musically. I love everything she does.
Kalimballin'This Dillaesque beat features odd-measure loops on certain accents, which gives the track an ever-hanging quality. It's a great way to surprise the listener! Check out the Kalimba (African thumb piano) on the track.
