I have been playing clarinet for more than 15 years, and I've been singing all my life. I started swing dancing in Knoxville, TN in 2008, and I was a founding member of a small swing band in 2009. I played clarinet and sang, with the occasional tune on alto sax, as a supplemental guitar, or to add additional rhythm instruments when the song called for it. We played swing music for dancers, at festivals, private parties, and weddings, and we sometimes ventured into pop and classic rock songs if the party atmosphere was right. We worked off of lead sheets in our keys for the swing music and just lyrics/chords for pop songs.
I am familiar with music from the 1920s to present in the genres of swing, jazz, pop, and rock.
My husband and I moved to the Cincinnati area (Fairfield) in the fall of 2012 for his school. I was very sad to leave my band and I'm looking for a new group of people to play music with.
