ABOUT

WE ARE SEEKING A 4TH MEMBER!!! BASS, VIOLIN,CELLO, KEYBOARDS....SOMETHING!!!!!

Hey,
My name is Tim Scritchfield. I am the guitarist/singer/songwriter for Phoenix based band SAWCELLO. We are a 3 piece alt/folk/hard rock band and we have been together (with this lineup) for a little over two years ( myself and Scott go back about 4 years as a folk duo in small bars, coffee houses and bookstores etc.) We are , and have always been "bass-less" This has gone from being our "shtick" to being a hole in our sound. We have thought about trying out bass players before, but gig after gig we are told that we have a fairly unique sound because of the lack of a bass. We don't really agree with that anymore. We know that we have a pretty full sound because of the dual lead vocals and vocal harmonies, but there is just a lot missing in our opinion. We have gained a good reputation as a very entertaining live band and we gig consistently. We have 4 shows coming up in April. We rehearse weekly, every Sunday (usually all day).

Unfortunately, even though we are a working band, we have not been able to get into a legitimate studio. But, we are slated to go into Flying Blanket studios in late April/early May, so for now all I have is a you tube vid of one of our shows from more than a year ago. Sorry for the poor quality, but you can get at least a basic idea of what we do. We do almost strictly originals and have about an hour set of just originals. The style goes back and forth depending on what guitar (acoustic, or straight solid body electric) I have in my hands. Some of it is quite folky while some of it is very distorted and loud and obnoxious. The best way to feel it out (for all parties involved) is to just try out.I have included a link to one of our vids and my cell number and e-mail contacts

here is the link to the vid: ://./watch?v=fA7o2i09lfg

SAWCELLO will be playing DONNA JEAN'S for the second time in a a couple of months. This is a neat little venue. It is the epitome of "hole in the wall" Great little bar with a weird mix of patrons; metal heads, hicks, hippies and town drunks all seem to somehow mix here. It's fucked up. I know, but somehow it works.

We are playing with (for the first time ) HUNG DYNASTY, and ALLEGED DOUBLE ACTION. I have seen HUNG DYNASTY while supporting some friends in MESA and they are a very talented band. I just checked out ALLEGED DOUBLE ACTION tonight, when I found out that we were booked with them, and the are "guitar driven" and there ain't a god-damn thing wrong with that!!!

Come check it out

SAWCELLO LIVE @ the STRAY CAT with our good friends MERGENCE, DARKNESS DEAR BOY and WHAT'S LEFT.

ALL 3 of the bands that we are playing with are fucking great live. We have played with all 3 and we are fans of all 3

This is our first show at the STRAY CAT, but we have heard great things about this venue from other bands. Come on out and fuck around!!!

SAWCELLO LIVE at the Ruby Room in central Phoenix with our friends MERGENCE and (new to us) IN DATA OUT and ATLAS IN EDEN (from Las Vegas)

Very cool little (and we mean little) hole in the wall in central Phoenix. We've played this venue before. Good crowd, great beers on tap and bad sound. Great fucking mix!!!!!!
