What do some of our other bands think of our facility? Here is a recent unsolicited testimony posted on another site:

"The band I'm in has been practicing there for the last four or five weeks and I couldn't be happier. The facilities are clean and well kept, the equipment is better than most places,
and the owner is one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet (plus, he plays a mean sax). It seems too often that only the negative gets reported on CL, so I thought I'd help
the guy out and give him the props he deserves for taking on this business."

Time slots are filling FAST! We're easy to find and easy to get to. We provide a clean, professional, creative environment that is well lighted inside and outside the building at entry doors and provides the following:

1). Great central location with easy access to major freeway artery I-270 and I-71.

7). Reception area

Influences

Soul - Soul music is a combination of R&B and gospel, and began in the late 1950s in the United States. Soul differentiates from R&B because of Soul's use of gospel-music devices, its greater emphasis on vocalists and its’ merging of religious and secular themes.

Classic R&B - (also known as R&B or RnB) is a popular music genre combining jazz, gospel, and blues influences, first performed by African American artists. Unlike today's hip hop or rap music, we're concentrating on the "old school" sounds from artists of the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's through the present.

Funk - is an American musical style that originated in the mid-to late-1960s when African American performers blended soul music, soul jazz and R&B into a rhythmic, danceable new form of music. Funk de-emphasizes melody and harmony, and brings a strong rhythmic groove of electric bass and drums to the foreground. Unlike R&B and soul songs, which had many chord changes, funk songs are often based on an extended vamp on a single chord. Influential funk performers include James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, Parliament-Funkadelic, Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, The Commodores, Kool & the Gang, The Brothers Johnson, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Ohio Players, The Commodores, War, Confunkshun, Slave, Cameo, the BarKays, the Gap Band and Zapp.

Smooth Jazz - In the early 1980s, a lighter commercial form of jazz fusion called pop fusion or "smooth jazz" became successful and garnered significant radio airplay. Smooth jazz saxophonists include Grover Washington, Jr., Kenny G and Najee. Smooth jazz received frequent airplay with more straight-ahead jazz in quiet storm time slots at radio stations in urban markets across the U.S., helping to establish or bolster the careers of vocalists including Al Jarreau, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, and Sade.

Jazz Funk - is the name given to a type of popular music combining elements of jazz, blues, and soul and characterized by syncopated rhythm and a heavy, repetitive bass line. The integration of Funk, Soul, and R&B music and styles into jazz resulted in the creation of a genre whose spectrum is quite wide and ranges from strong jazz improvisation to soul, funk or disco with jazz arrangements, jazz riffs and jazz solos, and sometimes soul vocals.
