Working 80’s New Wave cover band "Aloha Mr. Hand!" seeks male co-lead vocalist. We have practice space in the Druid Hills area of Atlanta, a 24 song set ready to perform out, and shows booked starting in early May. Guitar and/or keys would be a plus for this singer, but not required. All genuinely nice people who have a nerdy appreciation of capturing the nuances of the New Wave sound. We are a 6 piece: drums, bass/backing vox, guitar, keys/guitar/backing vox, female lead vocals/keys, and..... YOU!

These bands fuel my soul: Wild Nothing, Lush, Ride, Gold Fields, The Church (1981-1996), Ivy, Kitchens of Distinction, The Ocean Blue, The Railway Children, Cocteau Twins, etc. etc. I would love to collaborate on writing songs with others with a love of this sound (whatever one calls it.... dream pop, shoegaze, indy pop), but you know the sound, lots of layers, lots of reverb, lots of echo.

About me: I'm in my mid 50's, drummer by formal training, but also play bass, guitar, and keys decently by ear. I can carry a tune in the shower and am good for harmony vox, but I am not a lead singer. I have a full home recording studio, and I have great skills with sound engineering, mixing, etc. Skills I somewhat lack include lyric writing and melody finding. If you can provide those, I can offer just about everything else.

I'm open to ZOOM and remote collaboration in the short term. I'd even be willing to lay down drum tracks for you if you have songs in this genre.
