Hello, My name is Jason and I play guitar for Northwest Indiana based Progressive Metal act Monolith. We are a committed and passionate group of friends and music lovers who strive to create music that inspires us and makes our listeners think. We have collectively been playing together for the better part of three years, really hitting the ground running over the past year, gigging and completing writing on what will be our first full length album, while always growing ever closer as musicians and friends. The four of us, while all sharing a love of progressive music, each bring something different to the band, and each members strengths do much to contribute to the whole. We have been writing, recording, and gigging as a four piece instrumental act since our inception, playing our material sans vocals out of necessity as well as positive feedback from listeners. Although the various members of the band all have vocal capabilities to some capacity, our music is at times complex, and we would much rather focus on keeping our sound true without compromising in order to perform vocals ourselves. That said, we are looking for a vocalist in their late teens to early twenties who can sing in similar ranges to the influences we have listed. Guttural vocal capabilities would be a plus, but are not necessary as we aren't that type of metal band. Also, keyboard/piano playing ability would be a plus as well, but again isn't a necessity. We are interested in jamming with individuals who are passionate about the music we love, who strive to make something unique, and are personable, easy to work with, and open to collaboration. We are a close knit and dedicated group who are striving to take our music to larger stages and larger audiences, and feel that adding a talented and passionate vocalist would help bring us to the next level. As stated earlier, we have completed work on our self produced first album, and are writing new material as the year goes on. We are eager to play as many local shows as possible in the Fall, and playing heavily and extensively in 2013. We are a collective of diverse and eclectic musical tastes from Black, Thrash and Technical Death Metal, to Funk and Jazz Fusion, Classical, Latin, World, Electronic, Pop, Folk and Rock. We strive to bring all of these disparate influences together in order to create a unique sound.
