SEEKING

Band to Join, Vocalist, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard.

ABOUT

I am a lead/rhythm guitar player and songwriter looking for musicians/band to form/join. I would prefer to be the sole guitarist, but am open to a second guitarist depending on the band. Probably more into doing a hard rock/alt rock kinda thing, but I'd also be down for the right metal band. My ideal band would be a 4-5 piece consisting of me on guitar/background vocals, drummer, bassist, vocalist/front person, and perhaps a keyboardist. I would primarily want to do mostly background vocals, but wouldn't mind doing lead vocals from time to time. It would be great to find some other multi-instrumentalists out there as it might be fun to swap instruments sometimes for certain songs.

I was most recently in an Iron Maiden tribute band, prior to that I played in an old school metal band, rock and punk bands playing drums. It's been several years since I've played in bands regularly (life and parenthood) but I'm ready to jump back in. I like to keep my skills sharp by playing along to my favorite bands/music. I regularly play Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, Tesla, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Faith No More, Y&T covers just at home. So I'm sharper than ever really.

In terms of sound, I'm all over the place. I want to play either in a cover band that plays some originals, or an original band that plays some covers. Whatever the case, the band needs to play as a cohesive unit and rock the house. Whether it sounds like AC/DC or Iron Maiden, Radiohead or King's X, old school Metallica or Y&T...etc. I want to play Rock and Roll.

I am fairly advanced in terms of basic chord theory, so for instance, I know what a c#sus4 is, and an Ebmaj7, I know lots of scale theory, can harmonize (vox and guitar), have been writing music for 30 years. I also just LOVE playing, especially in front of a crowd. Having fun and honing my craft are my reasons for playing. I'm not looking to "make it." Not that I would turn an amazing opportunity down per se...but I want to play for the joy of it and come what may.

I am looking for other seasoned and dedicated musicians who are able to be easy going and have a sense of humor, but who also take the music and the band seriously. The most important thing I look for in other musicians is the ability to learn and grow as a musician, raw talent, and a love for playing. And dedication.

There's a lot of music down there. Below is a bit of a guide to what you are going to hear. I am playing all instruments (many are programmed drums, but several are me on acoustic drums) and doing all lead vocals on all of these songs except for bass on a few - which is noted in the song info (hover your mouse over the song to see song info).
